Blocked access to reproductive healthcare
According to a 2016 CSO report for the UPR, in Algeria discrimination targeting Sub-Saharan migrants, stigmatization of single mothers, and irregular status all block access to reproductive health care. Birth registration is not possible for migrant and asylum-seeking women who give birth in Algeria and who lack both hospital birth notifications and their own identity/residence documents.
