Cameroon
Administrative blockage for children of mixed status parents
Cameroon appears to have gender equality in ability to transmit nationality to one’s children, but women are prevented from passing on their nationality to their spouse on an equal basis with men. A report from Women In Research And Action to CEDAW noted that immigration services seem to attach more weight to the father’s nationality, and there are several cases where children of a Cameroonian mother and a foreign father have been detained for lack of residence permit.
